The menu was affordable, food was ample and service was great with a great view of the Bay and the sunset. I can't think of anything negative about the restaurant, which is rare with ANY restaurants in the Keys. The concoction reminded me of that cinnamon roll icing you get with the canned ones, but it had a hint of key lime, I think. Not sure if they were biscuits, scones, quick bread rolls, but they were yummy! Cranberries inside and some kind of buttery, sugary, key lime butter to put on them. And I forgot to mention the bread they bring out when you arrive. It was really good with the lemon squeezed on top. 99540 Overseas Highway 33037 Key Largo United States. The second night we tried the shrimp (Shrimp cargot?) with a melted butter sauce and Havarti dill cheese broiled over the top. My brother in law had the mahi tacos which he raved about. He was pleasantly surprised that the conch was tender and abundant! I had the fried mahi bucked which came with a large fillet, crispy fries and cole slaw. My husband had the fried conch sandwich that came with a Sweet and Spicy Thai Pepper sauce (he got it on the side). ![]() It was accompanied by long, seeded crackers which complemented the dip. We also had the smoked fish dip which had a mild, smoky flavor and had nice amounts of chopped onion, peppers, and celery throughout. Very tender and flavorful and a great deal at $6.95. I would say we probably got 2-3 dozen a serving. We had the littleneck clams (which is why we came back the 2nd night!) Steamed with white wine and butter and served with toasted bread. Bayside Grille & Sunset Bar: Call before to see if its open - See 1,721 traveler reviews, 626 candid photos, and great deals for Key Largo, FL, at Tripadvisor. I even spilled my iced tea and made a huge mess and he was there in a jiffy to offer me napkins and a fresh drink. The hostess was the nicest and most welcoming person I've ever come across in a restaurant! She gave us a window -side table which allowed us to view the sunset as it was happening. First of all, the view is spectacular, right on the water with perfect sunset viewing. We were staying in Key Largo for two nights and after checking out their menu online, decided to try it. It was NOT a tourist trap with overpriced food which tends to be par for the course down in the Keys. Thank Youīayside Grille was a pleasant surprised. Your review of items at both establishments is way off. The desserts you like so much at the other restaurant are store bought boxed desserts anyone can have delivered to their door while we work with the art of cooking and make everything from scratch. We asked to Tripadvisor to remove your review for this reason but they seem to like the drama of these types of reviews. We can deal with a bad review which which we have in the past but knocking one restaurant by name in 2 seperate reviews to harm their business is not appreciated. I see you reviewed the establishemnt you are trying to send our customers to, which is inappropriate. The crab bisque was actually lobster bisque. The menu is very accurate in its description on jerk seasonings and the flavor profile. For starters, the dinner you had was our Carribean Flank Steak. We opted to go upstairs for indoor/restaurant seating. We would like to say thank you for visitng our establishment but find your review less acceptable than you found our restaurant. Outdoor/bar seating is available downstairs with live music. ![]() Although there were clouds in the sky, to our delight, the clouds gave way at the right moment and the sunset was spectacular. Our server was great and very timely with each of the courses, but we didn't feel rushed. Dessert consisted of Oreo cake and cheesecake flan. Oh yeah, my daughter had flank steak with coconut rice. I had the chicken breast stuffed with pineapple and pulled pork and my wife had the curry seafood platter. Sure, we had conch fritters, but the rest of the menu wasn't the same-old, same-old that many of the other restaurants there recycle. ![]() The other thing that appealed to me is the originality of the menu. I'd recommend making a reservation, just to be safe. Got seated right away and was able to sit at a table right along the west windows (3 walls are surrounded by floor-to-ceiling sliding glass doors) without a reservation. My daughter doesn't like seafood (I know, right?) and so having non-seafood items on the menu was a must. Came here for dinner and to watch the sunset with my wife and daughter and wasn't disappointed.
